Communications tips - For clubs and venues
- Good organisation and effective communication are vital. This includes items like match schedules, court allocations, arrangements for team/squad practice, etc. If events are run in an ad hoc manner, e.g. someone walking around calling out instructions to participants, deaf participants are often left out of the loop.
- Issues like team selection, doubles pairings, picking people for finals etc are often done by consensus. Ensure that deaf players are included in discussions about these types of issues.
- Ensure televisions support captions, & that remote controls required to turn the captions on are on hand
